Kevin Vanderzanden’s daughter walks in Susan G. Komen for the Cure

When Lianna Hall, daughter of Kevin Vanderzanden, decided to participate in the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, she had only a little idea of how amazing the journey would be.  The 3 day, 60 mile walk proved to be an experience Lianna will never forget.

Lianna and  4 of her girlfriends, who cleverly called themselves “CGC” (an acronym for ‘Cute Girls Coffee’), were able to bring in $5,000 in donations with the help of friends and family.  Kevin, along with Core Design staff, created the CGC logo and donated the shirts the girls wore throughout the event.

After 3 long, grueling and emotional days, the girls, along with over 3,000 other participants, completed their walk and were welcomed across the finish line by the support of their families.  Lianna, whose grandmother suffered from the disease, was happy to share in the journey with so many wonderful people.  Overall, the 2008 Susan G. Komen for the Cure raised $8.6 million in Seattle alone.  Thanks to many people like those in Lianna’s Cute Girls Coffee group, we are a little closer to beating this disease.
